origin of  word, culture is the latin cultus which means "to care for"

geographers study why the customary ideas, beliefs, and values of a people produce a distinctive culture in poirticular place
Especially important cultural values derive from a group's language religion and ethnicity
the second element of culture is production of material wealth, such as food clothing and shelter taht humans need inorder to survive and thrive
Scale is the relationship between the portion of the Earth being studied and earth as a whole
Globalization is a force for process that involves the entire world and results in making something worldwide in scope
